Vendor Info
Mend on the Move, is a 501(c)(3) non-profit social enterprise, employs survivors of abuse in Metro Detroit to create jewelry which provides them with an income while in recovery. Their jewelry is crafted from salvaged auto parts and car seat leather, symbolic of their commitment to serve women locally in the Motor City. While they do sell jewelry, that’s just the vehicle they use to do their real work; helping their makers feel valued, gain confidence, find independence and grow toward healing in a caring and safe work space.
Mend on the Move makers are contributing to an empowering movement that is helping abused women take back their lives. An additional part of Mend's mission is contributing toward decreasing the more than 3 million tons of non-recyclable auto parts landfilled each year in the US.
The materials used have been donated by many generous companies in the auto industry here in Detroit, and each purchase helps provide an income for our employees and allows Mend to keep doing what they love to do - helping women thrive.
