Diamond Disc For Fast Initial Sharpening
The standard diamond disc is pre-installed on all HORL ® sharpeners. You can use it to grind knives of any hardness efficiently and give them a high-quality sharpness. This is ensured by its extremely durable block diamonds.
Ceramic Disc For An Edge Free Of Burr
After using the standard diamond disc, the ceramic honing disc removes any burr and refines the grinding result. Its integrated grooves remove grinding dust from the blade and in this way ensure a smooth edge.
Block Diamonds For Maximum Efficiency
The block diamonds on the standard diamond disc achieve up to 80% more steel removal compared to the HORL ®2 version. This makes sharpening even faster and results in a more uniform grinding pattern.
20° Grinding Angle For Robust Sharpness
The 20° grinding angle ensures a long-lasting sharpness for everyday use on sturdy blades such as European chef's knives. The 20° angle will also give outdoor and pocket knives a robust cutting edge.
15° Grinding Angle For Filigree Sharpness
The 15° grinding angle gives particularly fine blades made from high-quality carbon or Damascus steel a filigree sharpness. High levels of hardness in such steels allow a knife edge to be sharpened very finely.
Securely Fixed With Maximum Grip
Developed for an even stronger hold, the HORL ® Grip Pad provides up to 70% more grip than the HORL ®2 version. With its ultra-strong magnets, it is now better at holding even the smallest of knife blades in place.

A Gut Feeling A Recipe For Success
Their story began with a good instinct and a lot of imagination. And ultimately the gut feeling that something great can come out of a simple idea. Because no one was asking for a novel knife sharpener.
Timo's and Otmar's design and construction skills initially gave rise to the first generation of sharpeners, but they subsequently moved the business from their cellar workshop and the company now occupies three office locations in Freiburg.
Together with their growing team, they continue to write the HORL ® story and are delighted to inspire more and more people nationally and internationally.
