ARTIST BIO
John was inspired to make a wooden boat after returning from the Boundary Waters in Northern, MN. While making that first boat John discovered his woodworking talents. In the past few years John has exhibited his work at several locations throughout MI and received many top awards.

John’s art is the result of events that led to what has become his passion… designing and building wooden boats. Each of his boats are his own original designs and meticulously hand crafted with care to top quality standards. They are fun, a little bit different, and each reveals its own character.

This 17 foot rowing craft with 2 rowing stations is the boat that started Hamelink building boats. His first boat features design work that is not inlayed, but rather cut all the way through.

This 16 ft sailboat is an original design.

Gently Down - $32,500 This 17 ft. rowing craft features 12 different woods. The various woods have been cut and inlayed in precise locations to create all of the designs.	Gently Down - $32,500 The musical notes on the exterior of the boat depict all 16 measures of “Row Row Row Your Boat”. The interior notes are from “Lucy in the Sky With Diamonds”.
