Designer: Peter Hewitt for MoMA, 1996
Materials and shapes are dramatically contrasted in this popular series of
vases designed for MoMA by the American designer, Peter Hewitt. A metal
band, curved to hold water and support flowers, is suspended securely within
parallel walls of glass. This sinuous contrast of metal and glass gives
resonance to everyday materials, and the stunningly simple design equals
the beauty of the stems they hold. Made of anodized aluminum and 1/4"
plate glass. Available in tall or square style with two sizes for each style.
