The Ascent Mobile is handsome mobile that visually conotates its name;
"to ascend upward without constraint." The design is very elegant given the
proper ceiling space and lighting. The rolled loops in the armatures that
become the balance points, provide an exacting feel to the appearance
and movement of the mobile. This mobile moves in a serpentine mode of
one vane following the other as the air currents play across the surfaces of
each vane.
Available in three color combinations: Red and Black, Black and Silver, and ABC.
The Red and Black Ascent Mobile
with a white circle is the classic color combination of this painted mobile.
The Black and Silver Ascent Mobile is a striking combination of black metal shapes and brushed aluminum in
ascending formation. The silver and black complements a contemporary
motif with taller ceiling spaces. The Ascent ABC is comprised of 3 brushed metals: aluminum, brass and
copper. The juxtoposition of the warm and cool metals portray a soothing
sense of earth tones.
All the vanes are clear-coated in lacquer to preserve the surface texture.
The black aluminum arms add contrast to a light background and tend to
recede with a dark background. The mobile is signed and dated by Joel
Hotchkiss. Simple assembly is required, instructions are included. For interior use only.
